Guest Conductors

The LSSO gives its young players the opportunity to work with some of the world's finest professional musicians in its three Barbican Hall concerts. These are usually in January, April and September.

The orchestra works closely with its Artistic Director, Peter Ash, who usually conducts the September concert as well as the orchestra's annual summer tour.

For its other Barbican concerts the orchestra is joined by a wide variety of distinguished guest conductors from all over the world.

In recent years these have included Sir Colin Davis, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Richard Armstrong, Leif Segerstam, Támás Vasary, Thomas Sanderling, H.K. Gruber, Carlos Izcaray, Steuart Bedford, Ed Gardner and Nicholas Kraemer.
